Earth Day is April 22, but that doesn't mean that you have to limit your celebration to a single day! In Gatlinburg, every day can be earth day! Here are a couple of our favorite local places to celebrate the planet we call home.
The Smoky Mountains are the perfect place to celebrate Earth Day. America's most visited national park is known for its rich biodiversity and beautiful mountain scenery. Get to know the park by taking a hike! If you're available, then consider joining a volunteer group like Save Our Smokies to pick up trash as a small way of giving back to the ecosystem.
On April 22, Gatlinburg SkyLift Park held an event where guests were able to spread Native Wildflower Seeds by throwing them off the SkyBridge. We love this initiative- plus their other commitments to sustainability, including ForeverProject, which is their plan to reach zero net emissions. On top of everything else, the park is a great place to admire the beautiful Smoky Mountain landscape and increase your appreciation for Earth!
Come immerse yourself in the scenic Smokies! As you explore Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains, try to be mindful of trash and emissions. After all, we want future generations to be able to enjoy the park the same way that we do!
